Missions & Beliefs

Being United Methodist, we share a common mission and vision with other churches in our wider Connection.

“The mission of the Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world,” by “proclaiming the good news of God’s grace and by exemplifying Jesus’ command to love God and neighbor,” so that there might be a “fulfillment of God’s reign and realm in the world.”

The local mission of Fort Dodge, First United Methodist Church is to “love, serve, and grow in Jesus Christ,” and our missional priorities include:

• Develop leaders through a continued emphasis on Christian discipleship

• Support the children, youth, and young families within our church and community

• Continue to be actively involved in missions, both in the raising of funds and hands-on engagement

• Provide meaningful and creative worship experiences and opportunities

• Care for and stay in connection with our congregation members and worshiping community
